and, with the exception of a rubber stamp reinstatement charade, i've kept that promise.

There is nothing, I REPEAT NOTHING, "judicial" about a JW judicial committee. These are a usually a group of ass kissers with a wealthy or charismatic PO as their leader. They already have their a decision made before they go into the dog & pony show circus. It's a way, a path, a strategy, to keep a few old ladies that are still attending meetings in line so that the PO and his groupies can pay the light bill and keep the Hall open a little bit longer...
i've noticed that lately (maybe as of a year ago or so) there have been personal quotations in every single study article.
it seems a brother or sister always sends in the exact quotation that would fit perfectly into an article.
has anyone else noticed this?.
"Questions from Readers" have, at times, been about "new light" information but they're in the same mag as the article which sheds the "new light" which is proof that the "Questions from Readers" is crap.

I was a JW for 35 years and I like this video. I can certainly understand why current JW kool-aid drinkers would not like the video. I've traveled in 48 states, Mexico, and Canada. I attended meetings at Kingdom Halls in most of those locations and found most witnesses to be needy, insecure, unstable, introverts who are being taken advantage of by a few guys with charisma who are inherently lazy but they like the "elder" set-up.
Brenda Lee is obviously an intelligent lady who is trying to help JW's, and their bible study subjects, use their powers of reasoning. She wants them to fine tune their BullShit meters and she's using a comical format in an attempt to do this. If a JW or bible study watches this satirical video it won't be long before they will actually hear some JW or Elder or Circus Overseer... use the same verbage and reasoning that the JW 'play actors' use in the video. What's sad is the actual JW players don't see, can't see, or refuse to see how stupid they sound.

its a wonderfully funny book about the struggles of a kid raised in a cult mentality of jehovah's witnesses.
her humor is just great and we love it.

My adult daughter bought this book and read it straight through. She related excerpts to members of our family and had so many requests to borrow the book that she resorted to writing individual names down inside the front cover. As each family member gets the book and reads it that person then marks their name off and gets it to the next person on the reading list. I'm next.
i was wondering what to say to the elder after i complained about a brother that did me very wrongly and he said do not worry about him, he told me only to focus on my spiritual health.
what should i have said back to him?.

The answer he gave you is the answer that most Elders will regurgitate when someone needs their help. They'll say to rely on Jehovah and concentrate/focus on your spiritual health.

the majority of people i know who are married either have cheated at least once or have mentioned regret to ever having married.
as witnesses, we were taught that marriage should be lifelong unless adultery occured and even if it did, many times, eccouragement was given to forgive.. now, i see many couples go thru the motions but almost hate their status.. so, are marriages meant to be "forever" or what?.
A couple (man & woman) in a committed relationship should be forever (or death... whichever comes first). I think the term "marriage" itself is way overrated. "
the government IS involved already" Yea, in fact the govt will give two men a marriage license. WTH? Today, a marriage license is a contractural agreement, nothing else (and contracts can be broken, there may be a penalty, but you can get out of a contract).
True love for a partner, I mean actually caring for, appreciating, trusting, and loving each other, in a committed / monogamous relationship, comes from deep inside the individuals and I think (I hope) it can be forever.

O.K. I'm in. This is one my many experiences that made me what I am today.
As a police officer / investigator I was "unexemplary" (according to Corporate) in the congregation. My police department had investigated an internal theft from the local WM Super Store. It turned out to be the son of a local elder. On the surveillance tape we could see the elders son actually look up at the security camera as he stole money from the cash register in the sporting goods dept. What an arrogant piece of work. We arrested him. He was prosecuted. Later I found out he was caught stealing money from the contribution boxes at our local KH. As a pioneer he was given a key. I know this because, at the time, my Dad and two of my brothers were Elders and another brother was a MS. This incident was not reported to my police department but was covered up by the suspects daddy and the PO at the time. A lot of water under the bridge since then but here's a screen shot: My Dad is not an elder. My Brothers are no longer elders. My other Brother is not a MS. I was "unexemplary" just because I continued in law enforcment work and then in 1983 Corporate decided I was "reprehensible" for staying in that profession. Now I'm DF'd. The arrogant POS that was a thief? He's in good standing...

he and his wife took all the hundreds of books, including bound volumes from the 1800s and are now using them for research and proof of watchtower lies.. what did you do with your books?.
I gave them all (bound volumes, song books, study books, etc) to my X-wife who was very appreciative. If Corporate tells her to drink the kool-aid, She will drink the kool-aid.

In 1973 (02/15 wt) being a law enforcement officer is a matter of personal decision based on an individuals bible trained conscience and in fact the Society referenced the bible saying that Romans 13 gave earthly governments the authority to police and therefore "no scriptural objection" could be raised. Corporate made a decision based on the bible and I respect that. In 1978, after a lot of thought and prayer I excercised my bible trained conscience and started on a career path in the Law Enforcement profession. In 1983 (07/15 wt) being a law enforcement officer, required to carry a firearm, is unexemplary and I had six months to quit my career or I would not be, well, exemplary (no more being able to read the publications at meetings or represent the congregation in prayer or pioneer, etc). I didn't quit and so the local and area congregations gave a "marking" talk in the congregations to warn the Bro & Sisters of my errant way. Corporate evidently didn't like having law enforcement officers in their organization and basically said, It's not in the bible but WE think it's a bad idea to have a job where you must carry a weapon and so you'll knock it off... Because we say so! THIS was The Very First Thing That Came Across My Eyes That Led Me Down The Road To Doubt? In 2005 (11/01 wt) being a law enforcement officer, if you are required to carry a firearm, is reprehensible. Evidently too many Brothers & Sisters were using their bible trained consciences instead of blindly following the WTBS Inc.'s policy memos. I'm still not quitting my as a state police investigator and so the local and area congregations gave another "marking" talk in the congregations to warn the Bro & Sisters of my continued failure to obey the Society's direction. Because I am a Police Investigator, my conduct is reprehensible... Corporate (WTBS Inc) is making up rules and policy, not based on the bible but, based on a majority vote of the GB.
